Not an official fae court, the Autumn Court split off from the other two and has been trying to swell its ranks.

Magic[edit]

Autumn court magic, known as "Diseelie", reflects the nature of the Autumn court. Affinities include decay, harvest, fear, wards, ghosts, hunger and satiation, maturity, wind, detection of the occult, and travel. Unlike the (now) non-existent Spring Court, they have their name on a rune on the Stone Table - though what this means politically and magically is unknown.

Demographics[edit]

As difficult as it is to measure such things in The Nevernever, the Autumn court makes up between one and two percent of fairies in the Nevernever, and 50% of the fae active in the mortal world. The court has been known to take in other denizens of the Nevernever, including the occasional demon and angel. None of the Fallen have ever been known to join the ranks of the Autumn court, nor has any goblin. Mortals have been admitted into the Court, but very very rarely. On such occasions when they join the ranks of the courts, it is an honorific - they are not permitted to act as Champions, but do enjoy some measure of protection.

The Curse[edit]

The original Autumn Queen was given the title the Harvest Queen. Her heir is known as the Harvest Lady. At one point in time, a curse was placed on the Autumn court. Rather than have the curse spread to all members (and potential members), the Autumn Queen took the entirety of the curse into herself and her office. The curse changed her from the Harvest Lady to the Lord of the Hunt - The Erlking. To this day, whenever the Harvest Lady is ready to become the Harvest Queen, she is turned into a male and seeks out the Erlking in order to challenge him.
