(Micronauts Vol. 1 #25, Jan 1981) This led to a larger battle with Hydra and the forces of Baron Karza, in which Acroyear called upon the Worldmind of the Acroyear homeworld, Spartak, to defeat Karza. (Micronauts Vol. 1 #29, May 1981) Little did Acroyear know that Cilicia was pregnant with their child.
Some time later, the Micronauts encountered the Acroyear fleet in the Microverse. Lady Cilicia was determined to bring Acroyear to trial for his crimes against their race, and forced him to face her in a duel to the death! (Micronauts Vol. 1 #51, Mar 1983) But the trial ended when Acroyear cracked Cilicia's torso armour, revealing that light was emanating from within her abdomen. (Apparently, Acroyear females literally glow from the belly when they're pregnant.) The Acroyear Elder declared the trial over, that Cilicia's unborn child would be their future sovereign, who would decide the future of their race. Acroyear told his Micronaut comrades "My people no longer recognize me as king, nor do they recognize Cilicia as regent. They await the reign of our child as rightful heir to the throne. That, of course, will take many years, as our child must first be born and come of age." (Micronauts Vol. 1 #52, Apr 1983)
Acroyear never lived to see the birth of his son, as he died in his journeys with the Micronauts. (Micronauts Vol. 2 #20, May 1986) Cilicia named him Myrmidon, and he was raised by his mother and his people to believe his father was a traitor and a coward.
As interpreted by omens, Cilicia and the Acroyear Elders sent Myrmidon to the Macroverse (Earth) to fulfill a prophecy that the new King would, if he prove himself worthy, will lead the Acroyears to their new home and to prosperity never before known. When Myrmidon's old Homeworld Battle Cruiser pierced the Spacewall which separates the Microverse from Earth, his mind was overcome with the power of the Enigma Force but he managed to master the great energies and remain on course. Cilicia had directed her son to seek out the Earth warriors she had fought beside many years ago, the Fantastic Four. (Micronauts Vol. 1 #16, Apr 1980) She sent a recorded message of introduction to the Richards family, asking them to take Myrmidon into their care.
Reed Richards secured Myrmidon the required visiting alien status and enrolled him in a local high school. Ben Grimm told Myrmidon the truth about his father, which many seasoned Acroyear warriors had already subtly hinted at: that his father was not a coward nor a traitor but a true noble warrior who had made great sacrifices not just for the good of his people but for all the Microverse (and Earth). Myrmidon moved in with Ben, and he soon became close friends with the youngest of the Richards children, Peter.
- Powers and Skills:
Myrmidon possesses enhanced strength and durability, even moreso than most of his race. Reed Richards, upon first witnessing Acroyear's strength, commented that it "rivals Ben's". Myrmidon shows the potential to be as strong or stronger than his father was.
His encounter with the Enigma Force at the Spacewall has left Myrmidon with telepathic abilities and mind blasts much like those occasionally possessed by his father's fellow Micronaut, Commander Arcturus Rann.
