Background[edit]

Growing up[edit]

I grew up Eridanus 4 with my mother, father and twin sister sibling of::Victorea. The Eridanus system has a long history and a lot of traditions. It's a pretty complicated place in every way (geologically, biologically, sociologically), but the traditions give you a fairly clear roadmap of where you're headed. So it's pretty natural that I became a traditionalist.

Starting out[edit]

My mother was much less fond of the traditions than I and my father were, so she decided to smuggle me out of the society to save me from it, and maybe from myself. I found myself apprenticed to a pilot named Dante. He was kind to me and became a sort of father to me. (While my actual father's ideals made a lot of sense to me, he tended to be cold and distant when he wasn't outright angry, and while my mother was kinder, I never really understood what it was she wanted from me.) Anyway, I made myself useful around the ship, which was mostly filled with kind people who were happy to let me drive vehicles around on errands and electronics to fix. The low gravity suited me, and I discovered I was somewhat of a natural navigator, and had a knack for driving pretty much anything, terrestrial or otherwise, and was pretty handy at fixing things as well.

Moment of Crisis[edit]

Of course, just as I was putting my roots down again, albeit in an interstellar spaceship constantly on the move, Dante realized he was in some trouble with the law. He's a good man, and I'm sure he didn't do it, or if he did, it was for a good reason. But he was worried about them finding me, and had to put me down on the nearest planet: Amber. Since I hadn't shown up with the requisite gear that I would have had if I'd been there officially, with the atmosphere slowly killing me, and the need to adapt, I forged some connections with the planet's underground elements to get my survival supplies and wait for some way out.
